I am so pleased to hear that you watched it and enjoyed it. I used to watch these space oriented programs with my father and the whole family watched the launch to the moon-and the landing!

Yes, the show was quite enjoyable. It is amazing to see the history and the race to space with the Russians! If we didn't send our friend the chimp, but sent humans first, we would've been the first to space and not USSR! Now, we travel to space together in the INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION (ISS)! Is that cool, or what?

Priscilla, I miss you, too! I miss the class. I had mentioned at dinner right away how special this class has been. I will not forget this special class. I've watched you all grow from young little children to responsibly developing wonderfully delightful human beings. You are right, this school year has passed by quite quickly! It did not seem like 180 days! Make sure you keep in touch-let us all hear what you're doing over the summer and even next year-we'll still have a meeting place! Is that cool, or what!? Tell your family I said hello. Enjoy the summer and visit my new set of students! :)

Hello Class of 2008,

You will not believe it, but I've been sick in bed! Today is my first day actually at my computer. Still sick, but up a little. What a fun way to spend my summer vacation. I guess I just needed the rest! Enjoy and keep in touch, everybody!

P.S. While I'm stuck in bed, I've been watching "Little House on the Prairie" on the Hallmark channel. I like the morning (early-mid 1970s) better than the afternoon (late 1970s-1980s). I still need to find season two for my collection! :) I also watch BBC - British TV. I've learned some things about antiques in England by watching "Cash in the Attic" and "Bargain Hunt"! The shows are quite educational and informative. You know how much I love to learn about other cultures. I even got to see luggage that could possibly have traveled on the Titanic! It was very different from today's luggage. Well, hopefully I'll be feeling better to get up and out. Miss you all.
Tell us your plans and send a hello now and then. :)

Yes, I'm sick. I visited the doctor today. He says that he's been busy because so many people are sick and "it" is spreading around to many people. Keep healthy. Sleep, exercise, get practice for eating breakfast and healthy snacks. :) I watched BBC's You Are What You Eat again. I must say that it is quite interesting.

What kind of help do you need on math? MEMORIZE THOSE MULTIPLICATION FACTS! But, remember them as fact families and those multiples. For example, the 7 fact families are: 7,1,7; 7,2,14; 7,3,21; 7,4,28; 7,5,35; 7,6,42; 7,7,49; 7,8,56; 7,9,63 (my favorite); 7,10,70; 7,11,77; 7,12,84... When you remember them as families, then you automatically remember your division facts! You will know that 8 sevens or seven 8s will equal 56. Likewise, you'll recall that 56 divided into 8 groups will be seven, and that 56 divided by 7 will be eight! One day, it'll just stay with you! That is only if you practice and study them. Use the triangular cards-make your own and also use items-real things if it helps you. That'll help with your tens and fives if you use nickels and dimes! Also, click on the summer links in the blog. You will see a link to the School House Rock videos (SHR) in youtube. Look for the multiplication titles and listen to them. You'll be surprised how quickly you will learn those multiples. For example: the multiples of seven (in order) are: 0,7,14,21,28,35,42,49,56,63,70,77,84...Getting it? Relax and enjoy learning them. It is quite enjoyable and you feel absolutely fantastic once you have accomplished this tremendous feat! :) Keep me posted and look for a buddy. Valeria, Priscilla, or someone else might be willing.
