See Note From Dr.G.B. Edwards to you!
I had e-mailed Dr. Edwards to tell him that "Spiderboy" saw him on TV. I asked for the information to tell all of you, but he didn't even know that he was on TV! LOL Here's his note to you:
Hi,
Apparently I was on TV, although I didn't see it myself. Someone else told me they saw me on a program (on Animal Planet?) discussing tarantulas in Panama, and I was indeed in Panama last fall, so that is entirely possible. Say hi to Spiderboy and all the rest of the class for me. Best wishes, GB

Happy Election Day! See this year's blog...
http://greenclass0809.blogspot.com/
My class voted on the old election booth last used in the 2000 election. Click the link to see all of the cool voting/elections information. Watch the news tonight. The next time you'll see an election will be in 8th grade, then in 12th grade-some of you will be voting by then, so you only have this election and 8th grade to practice before it's YOUR TURN! I know you'll be responsible citizens and vote. Check out the sites http://www.whitehouse.gov/kids/ and http://www.timeforkids.com/TFK/election08/ plus click the link to this year's class. See you Wednesday. Be good examples for my students and those around you, who watch you without you even knowing it! :)

Is Hurricane Faye on the way?
Keep posted on the hurricane. Print out the hurricane tracking map below. This is the same as plotting math coordinates where you located a picture on the grid (quadrant) such as a tree, car, or smiley face (now YOU put the mark on the right coordinates)! Also check out the cool video showing how hurricanes form. Get your supplies ready!

Spiders, insects, and exploring-oh my!
Salutations! If you've found any new spiderific discoveries or observations, let us know. I know F.C. will be exploring in Puerto Rico and bug buckets were borrowed by many of you. It's spring, now, so the Dollar Store, Walmart, and Big Lot should have bug buckets, bug vacuums, and more for sale. Have fun and remember the safety rules!
